Well I tried Wii Active today and started Day 1 of the 30 day challenge, so looking forward to see what that brings.

Today I had to do some walking, running, bicep curls, lunges and boxing. I burnt about 88 calories and spent about 22 minutes doing the Day 1 challenges!

Yesterday was Day 2, according to the diary, you do a workout for 2 days, then day of rest, 2 days of workouts, day of rest, so it isn't too tedious that way.

The next stage was jogging, running, kick ups, kick backs, curls and lunges and a bit of tennis, although the tennis was a ball fired at you and you had to do forehand and backhand shots to hit the target.

I am really using muscles that don't get used.

You can enter into the journal any other exercises/walking/activities you have done each day and also food and drink you have had!

Yesterday's workout lasted 28 minutes and used the stretching band for the bicep curls.

You do need to have a wii remote and nunchunk, but you don't have to have a wii balance board, some exercises incorporate this or have an option if you don't have one.

There are three intensity levels and I am trying out the medium one, which seems fine.

This sounds like great fun! Are you feeling sore?

Do you need a special Wii band or is it one of those resistance ones?

The Wii band comes with the software, so you don't need to buy one specially, however, if you want to do it with someone else, then you can buy an additional band.

I do have some aches and pains, so it must be doing something!

Will be on it again today smile.gif

Sounds like brilliant fun! Can you change the committment level e.g. 20 minutes a day or something like that?

Not sure on the 30 day challenge, but you don't have to do that if you don't want to, you can set your own workouts etc if you just wanted to do a particular part of your body

How's it going AnnieC? Bet you are feeling really fit by now!

I've got My Fitness Coach on order from Amazon, I need a change from the Wii Fit. Although Wii Fit Plus is out in November, has lots of new features

* Wii Fit Plus routines – Create customised training routines or ask Wii Fit Plus to prepare them for you.
* MET Value – A MET value will be added to each exercise, in order to calculate calories burnt. MET stands for "metabolic equivalent" and is defined as "the ratio of the work metabolic rate to the resting metabolic rate"
* Weight your pets and baby.
* Additional Training Mode: Training Plus.
* Expanded training modes – Aerobic & Jogging (additional courses). Step Rhythm Remix (new songs). 3x NEW Yoga exercises 3x NEW Muscle exercises.
* Multiplayer mode.

I've preordered it, hopefully My Fitness Coach will tie me over until then!

I think I will get Wii Fit Plus too.

You can get bored of them when you are doing the same routines over and over.

Active is going great. On the 30 day challenge, you can customise how long you do it for, by removing some of that day's activities before you start, several of the activities are done twice in the routine, so if you are stick for time, then you could remove the duplicate ones.

I have set up a cardio dance one to last 15 minutes, that I can do on a rest day, or if I am feeling energetic then after my workout laugh.gif

That's what happened to me with the Wii Fit, I got really good, then hit by illness and had to stop. It really sets you back doesn't it?

We'll have to make a Wii pact for next week smile.gif

Did you start AnnieC?

I've been plagued with a rubbish ill over the last few weeks, it started off as a bit of a cold and loosing my voice then turned into full blown flu! I'm going to struggle getting my energy levels back up after this. I went to Sainsbury this afternoon and it nearly wiped me out.

Bloomin winter ills. Once I'm over this I'm definitely back on the Wii Fit!

Awwwwww, I hope you feel better soon, have you been taking any supplements to help with the energy levels?

This is only the start of the winter flu's, have you thought about a flu jab?

I haven't got back into it, have been so busy with working, same again this week, so that when I do get some time off, the housework needs doing, kids sorting, it never ends. Worked all this morning, then footie match this afternoon!!
