I already have a Nintendo Wii, just wondering if it's worth buying the Wii Fit. I do like it a lot except
the timing for the boxing on the Wii is a little off, is the timing better for the Wii fit?

Hi Angeloo,

From what I have read the Wii Fit should be the most receptive exer-game (exercise game) on the market with it's revolutionary balancing board. However I suspect any type of boxing or martial arts game would rely on the normal hand controller, rather than the board, so I would guess that you might experience the same delay.

Depending on your reasons for purchasing the Wii Fit - as a game or to keep fit, will determine your expectations. The latter probably wouldn't mind about the delay. I would recommend reading Diary: One Week Playing Wii Fit as it gives a good description of what it has to offer and what it is like to use.

Let us know how you get on.

Nintendo really are trying to get the girls buying their consoles!!!!!

Carmen Electra Brings Striptease & Pole Dancing to Wii Fit
According to the report, Peekaboo Pole Dancing, the company behind the Carmen Electra home pole dancing kit, is looking to bring the new exercise to the makers of the game. The report speculates, “Pole dancing would certainly be an interesting fit for the Nintendo Wii, and it would be something to see how big of a pole they would actually ship with a game.”

I think it looks like a bit of fun, but fear it would end up the same as the Eye Toy and Dance Mat I have for the Playstation 2 - at the back of the cupboard after it is replaced with the next innovation. It actually looks quite big and I am not sure if it could be easily stowed in the lounge next to the television so I didn't have to unplug it every day.

OOh I can't wait for the pole dancing! I will keep my eye out for that. At least that's all behind closed doors and doesn't matter if yo're a bit clumsy when you start off..

Hi Mitsuku,

I think you are right, it could end up at the back of the cupboard, with the gym membership card! I think if you make a point of sharing it with your friends and really monitor your progress, it could be a good buy. Aparently you can track your BMI...who nees a personal trainer? ;-)

I think I will give it a try and keep you all updated.

I'd like a Wii Fit if any were available at the "proper" price - not twice the recommenfed price from people out to make a quick profit (which I know is what Nintendo are doing but they don't want as much of my hard earned money!)

I have just ordered a Wii fit and put it away for Christmas. As I understand it, some official somewhere is recommending this, especially for people that don't get out and about much and school children to help with the obesity in the country! 30 minutes a day can make such a difference. Can't wait!

Very clever of you to buy it now! I think you can't buy it anymore a few weeks before Christmas...But I am not sure if it replaces your daily workout?

It sounds like fun! Anything that would keep me or anyone else inspired to exercise daily is a very good thing :-)

I didn't realise about the pole dancing one though...that's quite funny.

My sister has been doing her Wifit for a few months now, she initally lost a stone in weight. Does a very active job too! She has completley shrunk before my eyes. I think when I'm in a good routine with baby I'll get one of these as well!

A couple of friends of mine have just both had babies and I mean this in the nicest way possible, but they bother ballooned during pregnancy, but not even 5 weeks after are back in better shape than they were before. They have both said it was down to the breast feeding. They are both in their 30's and it is their first children. If I were you I would try the baby aqua-aerobics. It is fun and you are using the baby as the weights o it is a nice interaction with the child, both of you get exercise and it is a great way to meet other mums.

When I had my first I felt quite alone and isolated as I was the first of my friends to have a child, but going to classes was a really good way to meet others in the same situation.

As for the Wii fit - if it comes with Micheal Owen like in the advert I definitely want one!!!

lol Michael Owen!

There is the social side of it to consider :-) When baby is a bit bigger I'm thinking of going back to the gym.
Brilliant on your friends! Sounds like they got some fantastic results.

They do say breast feeding helps you lose the weight, my sister-in-law lost her baby weight from breast feeding!

I can't wait for Christmas when I can use our Wii Fit, help get off all those extra Christmas pounds gained :-)

I think several of the Wii games would be good for fitness levels as you are interacting with the TV/Consul more and good for winter/bad weather when you don't feel like going out :-)

AnnieC how is your Wii Fit? Are you enjoying it?

My sister has now lost nearly 2 stone from doing hers, she looks fantastic! I'm so jealous.
