I'm looking to buy a 42" flat screen TV. Not sure whether to go with LCD or plasma. Which is better technology and briefly why? Any suggestions on models at £1,000?
Thanks, |

You may want to check out the PriceRunner.co.uk buying guide before you make you purchase. Here are a few quick points taken from the article that maybe of interest to you:
I would go for an LCD myself as I have heard the screens last longer. A nice LCD that you may want to consider is the Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000. Retailing from £863 - it also has an Energy Savings Recommended seal of approval as it is better for the environment than many other televisions. Alternatively the Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ70E is a good plasma screen worth a look, retailing from £935. |

Wow that's a TV! I've never heard of this new technology before: OLED is a new display technology - using Organic Light Emitting Materials, one can create stunning displays that are very thin and efficient. (source: http://www.oled-info.com/sony-xel-2) What might it cost though? |

My bf has a 42" LG TV and the picture quality is really good. And it even doesn't matter from what distance we're watching TV.
Greta TV than ... Why are you asking? Are you interested in a LG? |

I have an LG W2234S 22" widescreen monitor that I'm using at the moment. It's really good. Better than the Samsung that is the market leader. Not sure if that transfers to their TV technology, but I don't see why not.
