I like to think my self a style conscious bloke. I am always cleanly shaven and a selection of moisturisers, which I apply morning and night, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but to be honest I think that’s the way woman like it. They wrongly assume that I am in touch with feminine side! However there is one thing that I think is a complete no-no for blokes - or so I thought!
I think everyone has seen the episode of Friends when Joey has a man-bag and the stick he gets for it. Men don’t need bags as pretty much all garments made for them have decent size pockets for the wallet, mobile, etc, and we only take what is essential. If I have my laptop – I’ll take my laptop bag. If I am staying over night somewhere I will take my rucksack, but my day-to-day life doesn’t require anything larger than my jeans pocket. I don’t carry around a hair brush, make-up and the kitchen sink that can be found in most girls’ bags. However – baring all of this in mind, I turned up in the pub yesterday to watch Man United beating Blackburn 2-0 (come on you reds!) and all of my fellow supporters were sporting man-bags! Has the world gone mad or is it just me? Have they really become not just acceptable but the must have fashion accessory? Please tell me that it’s not true! |

The fact that you are deliberating it so much shows that you want one! You have bag envy and want to jump on the band wagon. I think that you sound more upset that your friends are all more trendier than you than about the implications for have a had bag.
And for you information currently in my handbag - wallet, keys, phone, phone charger (as I stayed at a friends house last night), chewing gum, one hair bush and a pack of tissues. No kitchen sink in there mate!! Most girls carry a bag not only as a utility, but as an extension to their outfit and to emphasis their style. |

Man bags, as with woman bags, really come into their own in the summer. You can put your mobile, keys, wallet, MP3 player, digital camera, sunglasses and possibly gym kit or evening attire (depending on the size of th bag) all in one place leaving your arms free! In winter, when your sporting a winter coat, it is easier to just rely on pockets.
Don't worry if you have become infatuated with Man Bag's though as there are plenty available to suit every taste. If fact Kineda have even put together a list of the Top 10 Ultimate Metrosexual Man Bags (http://www.kineda.com/?p=987). Man Bag's even have there own Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manbag) so I think you are going to have to except they are here to stay! |

Well Angeloo - if you look anything like your avatar I am sure it would be very hard to make a bigger statement than you! I am sure you would out sparkle me in any situation.
Roxy - thanks for the link. They all look very nice and masculine, but I have fallen for one made by mambo. A little more flamboyant I confess, but everybody loves surfer chic! Also it's only £26 so if I decide I like the man bag look - I'll have enough pennies left to buy another one. Amber - I may be vain, but when did that become a crime?
