I want a min 20Gb MP3 player, with very good battery life, vey good sound quality & a built-in fm radio. I want to use it mainly for storing my 200+ ( & growing all the time) cd collection, and probably downloaded music (which I haven't got into yet). I dont want to store photo's or video or films, which would seem to make me the exception.
I also want ito use it with my hi-fi & in my car. Is there such a device on the market? |

No, Itunes is big because 1) it was one of the first in the mp3 market and 2) Itunes music shop is much easier/more pleasant to deal with than the rest. It also has a bigger selection of music than them. |

If you just want to copy your CDs and don't want to download music, Sony NWA3000 is probably the best model. It has black and white screen, so no photos or videos, but looks stylish and has 20GB capacity.
http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/sound-and-vis...s/462058/prices For your car, you have three choices. You can burn the MP3s to your CDs and then buy a stereo that plays MP3 files. These are very common and good price now. That means you won't have to buy separate MP3 player. Next option is to buy an adapter. Best choice is the ice>link, but this only works if you have an iPod - it won't work with the Sony model I mentioned above. This is good if you will use the MP3 player a lot away from the car, and you are prepared to pay extra for the photos and videos functions (even if you wont use them) http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/sound-and-vis...nk&ref=redirect Or you can get a cable - something that runs to your line-in port on your stereo, or using one of the old cassette adapters. This is a compromise of the other two options, although sound quality may not be quite as high. http:///url Hope this helps |

Thank's very much to Zibby Wojniak, I really like the look of the
Sony NWA 3000 recommended, including the battery life. I looked at Pricerunner, & there are 2 user reveiws, both heavily critical of the software. Has Zibby any comment on this? |

The NWA3000 does have awful software, but there is firmware/software upgrade planned to improve a lot of the faults. This will make it better. It still has problems and I wouldn't recommend it if you want to buy tracks online. You would be better getting Creative Zen or Apple iPod in that case. But if you are just copying your CDs over, then NWA3000 is fine. It looks and sounds great, and battery life is excellent.

they look ugly and the screen is hard to read. you cant use itunes with it which means you have to use one of the really small cowboy outfits for downloading mp3s.
ipods are much more attractive, easy to use, and good value as well. if a rolls royce was the same price as a skoda, why would you get the skoda? |
