I want a pay as you go mobile, that will only be used rarely, mainly for texting (UK to UK, and UK to abroad) and very occasional phone call.

I don't care what it looks like or what it does, I might as well pay as little as possible......

Anyone any thoughts....I'm afraid I know nothing about these things!

Thanks
Rob

For what you asked for I would say VirginMobile. Texts to virgin 3p, other networks 10p and abroad 20p. Phones starting from £20 reconditioned and £30 new.

Having said that I can't find the cost of texting abroad from the other networks.

That's pretty cheap....I'll probably do that.

Thanks

I think 02 pre-pay is pretty good value! go to http://www.02.co.uk/shop and select phones and then select 'pre-pay'.

There are load of different phones to pick from.

You don't even have to buy and phone, just keep you old one and buy a SIM Card only.

 The pre-pay price plans are cool

The best one I think is if you top up only £10 a month and you get...
£10 credit (to use one calls etc)
300 free text units (1 unit = 1 text or 4 units = 1 picture message)
1MB of GPRS (mobile internet access)
With 02 the also give you 10% back every 3 months, so even if you only top up the min' £10 a month you get £3 back every 3 months!

I know the sim-card cost about £10 but if you look on ebay you can get them for about £1

What-ever you pay for the sim-card don't worry either becuase 02 give you £2.50 credit if you register your details on the website, another £3 on you first top made via the 02 website and 10% back on your first credit card or e-yop you make too..... They are so great value http:///list
