If you are off 11 at 15 you don't want a typical budget game improver set. I would say ideally you should ideally get custom fitted a premier set of irons such as Mizunos MP60's however as these well out of your budget I would still go to the pro or custom fitting shop and see if you can fixed up with good players 2nd hand set for a decent price. Although Nike Combos look good ain't done any good for David Duval or brother in-law who got rid of his in short shift and bought Callaway X-18 Pros instead he's about same handicap as you. Hi,
I have recently bought a set of the Mizuno MX-17 irons. They are fantastic! they have a good cavity and are very forgiving. I can knock a 5 iron around 210 yrds - they really do the business. im a higher handicapper and would reccomend these to anyone. I think they are just over the £200 mark but well worth it. Also, I would seriously consider the Nike Slingshots (last years) as they are only £200 now ands also very good. The new ones are excellent but at £440 i'd settle at the 2005 model. The lower budget Nikes are not very good - they feel weak and dont do much for the confidence. Good luck |
